Mr.Rahul Gandhi's Unnecessary Comments on Other States & Cities

UP losing out on development opportunities: Rahul Gandhi

Mr.Rahul Gandhi who claims to be the Prime-Ministerial Candidate of UPA, is NOT doing a good Job by repeatedly talking about the development in all the different states other-than Uttar Pradesh.
In the process of impressing the UP voters, he is surely upsetting people of other states.

Why shud he talk as if other states and cities have snatched the opportunities from UP?
Talking as if we people in Hyderabad and Bangalore are having feasts everyday and as if our pockets are rattling with Gold Coins is simply not the way somebody, esp a leader must talk.
The fact remains that there is a lot of poverty in all the Major South Indian cities. Perhaps you'll find more slums in Mumbai and Hyderabad compared to other cities.

Can't the point be made without mentioning others?
If we go and keep on telling even a multi-millionaire that he is rich and we are poor, even he'll get irritated.
While here is a country with widespread poverty everywhere, common-man is fed-up of inflation & here is a National Leader who goes to a particular state and says that other cities and states are flourishing.

More than informing it's looking like he's jealous.
Is he upset about it? Is it so bad that Bangalore & Hyderabad, in his words, have moved ahead in the IT sector?  Is it bad that Automobile Industry might be doing well in Tamil-Nadu & Maharashtra? Aren't people migrating from other states of the country?

In any case I think, Mr.Rahul Gandhi must raise above his regional mindset if he wants to be a National Leader and stop talking about the development of other cities and states in this way.  He must realize that comparisons are undesirable.

Did we discuss Telangana,... Can't say, can U?

Yesterday i.e., on 23-Feb-2011 Lok Sabha TV organized a discussion on their show Lok-Manch.

The topic they took over was Telangana and smaller states.
The panel on the discussion were one from Uttarakhand, one from Jharkhand, and one journalist and one BJP leader. Needless to mention that none of them was from Andhra or Telangana regions. The discussion was on Telangana issue, what was raised in Parliament during the budget session yesterday by Telangana Congress MPs and TRS Chief, supported by Madam Sushma Swaraj.

There are few astonishing points about the show:

a) No Proper Representation: They didn't feel that they need somebody in the panel to represent Andhra and Telangana areas.

b) Panelits either Ignorant or Indifferent: None of the people on the panel seemed to have understood the crux of the problem what the state here in south and the Congress Government in Delhi are facing.

c) No understanding of the Dead-lock situation: These guys on the LS Channel, mostly from north here  are still under the impression that Congress is not ready to give Telangana only to avoid other statehood demands. Infact surprisingly a Panelist from Uttarakhand, from the very Congress Party is not clear about their High-Command's dilemma. Here what is going on in Andhra Pradesh is the conflict of interests between Andhra and Telangana Regions. Congress is in dilemma not because of other states but, to convince their own leaders divided, with conflicting interests coming from Andhra and Telangana regions. Even if Bodoland and Vidarbha weren't a problem, Congress as well as TDP would have faced this problem. It is the interests in Hyderabad which are complicating the issue.
UPA government on Dec-9, 2009 announced Telangana and since then Congress is facing a dead-lock situation here.
As the otherday here even TRS Chief was saying, Hyderabad is the main issue.
The major task before the central government is not to assess their vote banks and see what is more beneficial, (of course a political party does it) but here it is to bring the leaders and people of two different regions to concensus.
I mean why is this issue taking time and what r U guys discussing there.

d) No clarity: What is astonishing is none of them seemed to have bare minimum clarity and have given bare minimum thought that today for Congress Telangana issue fundamentally differs from any of the cases like Jharkhand, Uttarakhand or Vidarbha or some ABC or XYZ.
Surprisingly one panelist was saying U can demand a separate state if Capital is far away and governance is becoming a problem. Who could explain him the Andhra Pradesh Geography and tell this guy that far lying districts like Srikakulam in the North-East, Anantapuram in South-West and Nellore in South-East corners of the state of Andhra Pradesh are infact participating in United Andhra Agitation and Telangana area where Capital city is situated is demanding a separate statehood.
I mean where is the problem and what r U discussing again.

e) Living in the Pond: In the name of Telangana what they've discussed is Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chattisgadh, Vidarbha, Bodoland.  A common man in any part of the country may or may not know anything about what is happening in another state or another region. But I think atleast journalists, and leaders should step out of their ponds and explore the world before they showcase their brains before the camera.
If not what difference there'll be between me sitting in my room and someone discussing in a panel on a National TV?  This apparently showed their lack of seriousness & carefree attitude of LokSabha TV and its journalists in conducting their programs; it's absolutely preposterous.


I felt pity for the panelists and the journalist who were posing to be knowing everything and still demonstrating their complete ignorance or, sorry but precisely illiteracy in this matter.


The main point what I want to make here is not about the Telangana issue, who is correct, who is wrong and what has to be done. 

I just want to make my point about how indifferent, perhaps is a seciton of North-Indian media and political circles towards such a major problem in a South Indian state. How ignorantly, even journalists miss all the key matters of the issue, as to why the Governments are in dilemma and what is actually happening here in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Simply running behind things not at all connected to the main issue. Apparently they wanted to discuss an issue connected to a South Indian state but they end-up discussing everything about their own surrounding issues, but the actual problem for what they actually sat there.

With deep regret we here in South India feel let down & are forced to conclude, the main reason for this being that most of the Media there never actually felt South Indian News even needs a mention. Is it true that They've always looked down upon south?

It's time Media there start giving (a little) respect, (show a little care and caution) to the people, places, news and issues from different parts of the country.
I don't want to sound prejudiced against the entire national media, but at times it does feel let out.
